2022-2023 Week 2

This week we did more states practice and we also started Story of the World (Vol 4). This will be our spine this year. We are going down by the chapters, and stopping when we have more materials to cover, using lapbook/notebook materials from Homeschool in the Woods . Every chap has reading/listening, quiz (google quiz or oral review), mapwork, and some activities. This was a great visual to teach why the sun never sets on the British Empire. This was an example of the google quiz. I took a sample of review questions from the Student Activity Book. Actions and Reactions Grade 5 Science This is how Baby Sis does her science. She will read on her own, fill up worksheets I give her and read some books! 2021-2022 Weeks 31-34

 The weeks went by in such a blur, as it always happened with the last weeks. The younger girls finished up the early 19th Century American History and did their lapbooks from Homeschool in the Woods .  Also, they finished their state study up to California (1850) and president study up to Zachary Tyler. Next year we will continue with the rest. Big Sis 9th Grade Big Sis also finished her World Geog, Chemistry, Foreign Language, and Geometry. She did a spectacular job!! I will do a year end recap post of our year.

2021-2022 Week 30

  This week we learnt about the Oregon Trail and finished the map of trails. We also used iCivics materials for the Oregon Treaty. We did more state studies and also president studies. The girls also continued to do their quilt. And we made butter like the pioneers. Big Sis She drew some manga for Japan. And cooked Moroccon Chicken Tagine (I made the Khobz) for Africa study.

2021-2022 Week 27

  We started the week learning about Erie Canal. This was interesting because it was in our state. Then we focused on slavery and did a lapbook component on it.  We also did an Indian Story Bag, about the stories of the Native Americans. We will finish the rest of the stories next week. We learnt about the Trail of Tears and made Navajo Fry Bread Taco For State Study, we learnt about Ohio, Louisiana, and Indiana. We used Quizlet live to have games on capitals, abbreviations and nicknames. We learnt about President William Henry Harrison 9th GRADE Big Sis learnt about Southeast Asia and made a Filipino-style Adobo Chicken. So good! Science For Science co-op we learnt about the amphibians.
