  Bible/History This week we learnt about life in the Medieval castle, the knights, arts, and the beginning of church history. This was a fun page we made from Project Passport . We learnt about the coat of arms and the code of chivalry This was another fun lapbook component to make We made catapults! And stained glass windows. I wish we have colored sharpies (they work so much better). These videos on the knighthood are REALLY good. We took a break from Science this week. But we did more practice on our Mandarin words. We also continued to read from The Princess and the Goblins Grade 8 Big Sis learnt about transcription this week. 

 This week we wrapped up the study of Ancient Rome! BIBLE We memorized Rom 12:2 and read more about Jesus' life. HISTORY This was the fan deck of Notable Romans we have been collecting throughout the whole study. It was really fun to finally put them together! We wrote more newspaper articles and it was very satisfying to see the whole newspaper done. Our Snapshots (timeline) is all done too! LOVE the postcard rack!! To look back at all we have learnt about Rome is pretty awesome. The completion of the lapbook was another accomplishment. I let the girls decide how to place their components. I REALLY love Project Passport: Ancient Rome. I think it's better than Middle Ages (I have bought that and have already prepared part of it). We will have another break week, and after that we move on to early church history (The First Century Church and Paul) and then on to Middle Ages!  We had another break week last week and here are some highlights of our week. In our "touring the boroughs" project, we visited the Bronx, and this is the Verrazano Bridge. I love the bridges in NYC. HAD to show the girls the aqueduct-turned-walkway, High Bridge , NYC, along the way. In case you are a history buff, and since we are learning about the Romans...here's the history of the high bridge. We take walks around our neighborhood regularly in this pandemic. Mostly Wee Bro and I. However, on Sundays, I love the walks with the whole family. Thank God we have such a luxury in the city! My friend recommended me this book and I'm learning a lot! I got my 150 day streak in duolingo (espanol)!
