2021-2022 Week 27

  We started the week learning about Erie Canal. This was interesting because it was in our state. Then we focused on slavery and did a lapbook component on it.  We also did an Indian Story Bag, about the stories of the Native Americans. We will finish the rest of the stories next week. We learnt about the Trail of Tears and made Navajo Fry Bread Taco For State Study, we learnt about Ohio, Louisiana, and Indiana. We used Quizlet live to have games on capitals, abbreviations and nicknames. We learnt about President William Henry Harrison 9th GRADE Big Sis learnt about Southeast Asia and made a Filipino-style Adobo Chicken. So good! Science For Science co-op we learnt about the amphibians.

2021-2022 Week 26

  This was a fun week. We learnt about the war of 1812, and the Napoleonic Wars. We also listened to the kindgoms in Africa (Story of the World). We also learnt about the Star-Spangled Banner and it was fun that we went to Fort McHenry some years back. We continued with Mary Jones and her bible for reading. President Study We studied Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren We flipped the President Cards over and tried to put them in order. Science: We did the owl pellet!! It was really interesting. We learnt about Kentucky, Vermont, and Tenesse for State study 9th GRADE Big Sis learnt about Korea and made Chicken Bulgogi and Bibimbap And she did some Chemistry experiment. OTHERS Baby Sis occasionally host art "contests" in our home.  This was the winner last week! =)

2021-2022 Week 25

 This was an odd week. We had three days of school, and we were off to Albany. For a concert. But we DID stopped by the capitol. It's quite impressive I have to say. But Albany, not so much. For History, we learnt about the fight for independence in the South America: Haitian Revolt, Simon Bolivar, and Mexico. We also learnt about James Monroe and John Quincy Adams. AND we learnt about NY, NC, and RI. Which made the capital visit quite meaningful actually. We also started reading "Mary Jones and her Bible"

2021-2022 Week 24

 This week we learnt about the Industrial Revolution and the inventors. This was a fun research for Homeschool in the Woods. We also listened to the chapters in Story of the World and the girls did easy quizzes. We did the trail map for Lewis and Clark. (Homeschool in the Woods) These are the presidents we have learnt so far State study: We finished this book (was for Georgia). It was funny!  Saturday was LOVELY so we went to Brooklyn. It really is quite amazing that we get to see this sight.

Preschool Chinese New Year Unit: Jan-Feb 2022

 We are starting a new unit: Chinese New Year!! Fun books! Got these worksheets for him He LOVES this app to learn Chinese He also started doing some addition. He REALLY love numbers. For the year of the Tiger Boy has progressed to addition. He LOVES to write Chinese words Kumon book has gone to CVC words. Oh my. Cutting and pasting for the Kumon book His 100day on Duoling ABC!! He started Teach Me Kindergarten. Oh my. Delicious food for Chinese New Year. Cheese puff as tiger tails...
