BIBLE

We memorized Rom 12:4-5 and revised the verses before

Lil Sis continued to memorize Proverbs 12:15
Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.

We read Revelations and the letters to the churches.

For Lil Sis, she read the Cain and Abel Story and Noah's Ark in her reader.

HISTORY

This week we began Twice Freed. We really enjoy these historical fiction. Twice Freed has shorter chapters so it is easier to read.

We continued reading Galen and the Gateway to Medicine, but I did summarize some of them.

We learnt about the Flavian Dynasty and the five good rulers who followed.
We also learnt about the chariot races and the Colosseum.
And we read the Androcles and the Lion

We listened to the first chapter of Story of the World. (We bought the audiobook version as well)

LANGUAGE
The older kids continued on Rod and Staff English.

Lil Sis worked on her phonics, bible books and bible notebook

The older two started Lesson 6 åº·è»’一下 for Mandarin Chinese and Lil Sis practiced more of her bopomofo

We learnt two more Latin words "manus" and "pes, pedis" this week.

We did Spelling Power.

MATH
Lil Sis continued to do worksheets on subtraction. She is getting independent on her Daily Calendar.

SCIENCE

The Body Book suggested using the cards as templates to identify the areas of the brain

That was what we did and it was very fun for the kids

We also learnt about the spinal cord.

We enjoyed drawing the Colosseum from Draw and Write Through History

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
