2022-2023 Weeks 10-11

For History these two weeks we learnt about the happenings around the world after the industrialization. Around 1870-1900

The learning about the business tycoons in the Gilded Age was fun because there were so many in New York City.

Most of the time we listen to stories in the Story of the World, go through the map together, and outline, then the girls do a quiz on the lesson.

5th Grade Science:

This was fun learning about acid (cleaning the copper)
She drew a ruby from the tutorial

Big Sis

Something fun she did this week.

KINDERGARTEN

Nest

TURTLE

It was fun going on to 41!

I guess Sam could be a very feminine name, and "Sam" has longer hair than a boy?

We read fun books for these two weeks but I didn't take a picture.

He also has been playing "fuzzbug" games on abcya. They are very fun and adorable!

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
