Review iPad App: Usborne Sticker Dolly Dressing

Usborne graciously gifted us with the Sticker Dolly Dressing App in exchange for a review.
If you have seen these books before, you'd have known how lovely it is to play with the dollies.

Here are our thoughts (mom included, because, ahem, yes I sneaked to play with it too).

LOVES

1. The ease of use.

You just have to drag and drop the apparels, and they "fit" on their own (you'd be surprised how some "dress up" apps requires you to match very carefully).

It is not hard to find where everything are.

2. Variety and beautiful graphics
There are eight scenes to use the dolls and there are many outfits to choose from. We get to keep the finished product in a gallery, which is kind of nice.

3. More than one doll
My daughter pointed out that it is fun that when you get to a scene, you can add dolls and dress up those friends too.

IMPROVEMENTS

1. Different outfits for different scenes
My daughter thinks it would be nice to have different outfits for the different scenes so you're not "reusing" all the time.
However, my other daughter thinks it might limit the choices (like a wedding on the beach scene?)

2. Color
The color is quite pastel, just like the book. But, while it looks pleasant and soothing on the book, it looks a little lack of lines in the app. I would think especially the hair color can be improved. There was a bright neon green that is bright and unnatural.

We do love this app and the girls had a lot of fun dressing and making up stories for them!

You can get the app (and the Princess Dolly app) for $3.99 each at the appstore!

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

We really had fun learning about the Human Body this year. I thought it would be meaningful to consolidate our learning. We enjoyed the Body Book more than I thought we would. I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
