Highschool 10th Grade MFW World History and Literature 2020-2021 Plan

Our firstborn completed his 9th grade with My Father's World Ancient History and Literature. This year he will go on to 10th grade, with World History and Literature

For 9th grade,he took these credits:
Bible (1) AHL
History (1) AHL
English/Literature (1) AHL
Algebra I (1) Chalkdust
Biology (1) Apologia
Foreign Language (1) Integrated Chinese

For 10th grade, our focus is for him to figure out career path, college requirements, and some SAT prep.

these are the credits he will be taking:
Bible, History, English/Literature (1 credit each) WHL
Geometry (1). We are trying out EasyPeasy AllinoneHighSchool free Geometry curriculum.
Chemistry (1). Masterbooks I got the lab kit from here
Foreign Language (1) Integrated Chinese
Introduction to Filmmaking (0.5) Film school for teens
Personal Finance (0.5) Dave Ramsey

Maybe for the 2nd half of 10th grade we will start SAT prep and also 0.5 health/PE credit.

Dad is also teaching him some computer, that with the amount of work he does for youtube and church tech, we might make it into a 0.5 credit for the year.

One thing we are doing different this year is that I added some short quizzes or reflections for him to do after bible reading, so that he has some accountability. I felt that was a little bit lacking last year.

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

Science 2015/2016: Human Body Recap

We really had fun learning about the Human Body this year. I thought it would be meaningful to consolidate our learning. We enjoyed the Body Book more than I thought we would. I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
