2021-2022 Week 4

HISTORY
This week we learnt about Henry Hudson, the pilgrims, and the Mayflower.
We drew Henry Hudson's map.

We continued reading this book aloud.

We learnt to draw the Mayflower

The girls wrote about the pilgrims.

This is a fun book to read for this period.

And this is a really silly song about the pilgrims

Other than that we continued learning Chinese.

Lil Sis learnt about the rock cycle.

9th GRADE
Big Sis did a really fun experiment looking at oxygen.
She was going to do the compass experiment but failed because we didn't have a magnet with two poles.

And she finished embroidering a project for her friend.

11th GRADE

Big Bro started Latin!

And he read this Manga book for Scarlett Letter. =)

PREPPER
He started a new fun book.

OTHER HAPPENINGS

Ida happened. We went out to inspect the aftermath. We were ok and very thankful, but our city got hit pretty bad. =(

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

Science 2015/2016: Human Body Recap

I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
