HISTORY
This week we learnt about Louis XIV, Frederick the Great, and King Philip's War.

The girls did a notebook page on Louis XIV.
And we did a dictation paragraph on Frederick the Great for the notebook page.

We also watched the video for the Middle Colonies.

We started Amos Fortune as well.

Chinese

We are using stories from Little Fox Chinese. And I make games, worksheets, etc from the stories for them.

SCIENCE

For Science we learnt about leaves and classifying them. Baby Sis will do some notebook pages this week about them.
Last week she made a notebook page on Plants Classification.
We tried to do the leaf skeleton experiment. Didn't work.

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
