  This week we learnt about the Oregon Trail and finished the map of trails. We also used iCivics materials for the Oregon Treaty. We did more state studies and also president studies. The girls also continued to do their quilt. And we made butter like the pioneers. Big Sis She drew some manga for Japan. And cooked Moroccon Chicken Tagine (I made the Khobz) for Africa study.

 After the vacation, we are studying the Pioneers! We made a fun log house This lapbook component of the covered wagon is really wonderful. We also did a lapbook on mountainmen and trappers. And we started on the quilt project! So cool! We also started reading these two books as read aloud.

 This week we learnt about Tecumseh, Remember the Alamo, the Mexican American War, and the Mexicans. We did a lapbook component. These maps are just so interesting. And the girs made serape mats. They did a wonderful job! Big Sis learnt about Asia and is REALLY amazing with the map!! WE then had a REALLY wonderful and relaxing time vacationing. =)
