HISTORY This week we learnt about King James, John Smith, and Jamestown. We came up with the banned words' list and the alternatives together. Then the girls wrote notebook pages on King James. They also did google quizzes (I made them) for Story of the World. We learnt about John Smith. We watched this video for Jamestown. We also learnt about the French explorers and I asked the girls to read this book. We did a Jamestown replica model. It was fun! I cut the pieces the night before though, for that took the longest time and work. FOREIGN LANGUAGE The girls started spelling as well as Chinese this week. I'm using materials from this site and made worksheets for them to learn the words Once in a while we get a nice pictorial learning of Chinese words. =) BIG SIS (9th Grade) Big Sis did some fun experiments for Chemistry this week.
