MFW CtG/K Week 25: Z-z Zebra, Solomon/Elijah

4th/2nd Grade Creation to the Greeks Psalms 1 Blessed is the man      who  walks not in  the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in  the way of sinners,      nor  sits in  the seat of  scoffers; 2  but his  delight is in the law   of the  Lord ,      and on his  law he meditates day and night. The wicked are not so,      but are like  chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked  will not stand in the judgment,      nor sinners in  the congregation of the righteous; for the  Lord   knows  the way of the righteous,      but the way of the wicked will perish. Bible/History Timeline of the split of kingdoms. This coffee stain had a very funny story. I woke up from the nap with the Baby Sis and was presented with this note: I love my girl. =) We read about King Solomon (how he turned from God when he was older). The kids were quite shocked by this. But he was wise!! They argued. Well...Mama had a serious talk to them about marrying the right person. =

100th Day of School 2015

Can't believe this is the 5th time we are celebrating 100th Day of School. And I seldom do much decorating. This year it feels like I'm going ALL OUT. (just kidding) I happily went to the dollar store and picked out streamers and balloons, thinking "might as well do primary colors". After I put it up, I realized, it looked very Cinco De Mayo-ish. After posting the photos on facebook, realization hit. BLUE. It is BLUE. NOT GREEN. *SLAP FOREHEAD*. Brains seriously not working after 7pm This morning Lil Sistold daddy "Did you see the cool car wash?" And Baby Sis said "媽媽, 外面美美" And at the breakfast table, this dialogue made me laugh so hard. Lil Sis: Mom, if you change the green to blue, it will be primary colors!! Hubby (being nice, but we both were stifling a laugh): Yes, Emma. Mommy was trying to do primary colors and she sort of forgot. Colleen (totally incredulously): But...green is a secondary color. Alright. Asid

They talked about the brightest star, Orion's Dog and we learnt about the "dog star" (Sirious) this week! wow! The kids wrote summaries of David's life. And we talked about the Arabians, Queen Sheba and the countries that pay tribute to King Solomon. We also watched a simulation of Solomon's Temple.
