MFW Exploration to 1850 WEEK 8: Sun King, King of Prussia, Fruits

Bible This week we revised Bible memory James 1:1-11. And we memorized James 1:12-22 We learnt "Now Thank We All Our God". Big Sis played for us. History  We learnt about Louis XIV (Sun King) and King of Prussia. We wrote about Virginia. We continued reading Amos Fortune. Language We continued with Spelling. Lil Sis is really getting a hang of Spelling. It was cool to see. We continued with Mandarin Chinese. Lil Sis is reading so much better now! Science We learnt about fruits and seed dispersal. Seed dispersal was SOOOO much fun!! We watched these two videos and the kids LOVED them. Art We are using Artistic Pursuits K-3 (Book 2) this year. We learnt blending with pastels this week. MFW Exploration to 1850 WEEK 7: King Charles I and II, Maryland, Flowers

Bible This week we revised Bible memory James 1:1-11. And we memorized James 1:12-18 After a while we were kind of forgetting 1:1-11, we revised it by listening to youversion's audio. The reader is really good! We use these to help us. We learnt "Now Thank We All Our God". History  We learnt about King Charles I, Oliver Cromwell, King Charles II, and Lord Baltimore (and Maryland) This book gives really funny tidbits We continued reading Amos Fortune. Language We continued with Spelling. Lil Sis is really getting a hang of Spelling. It was cool to see. We continued with Mandarin Chinese. And that's how we do Spelling for three levels. MFW Exploration to 1850 WEEK 6: Dutch(New Amsterdam), Africa, Flowers

Bible This week we revised Bible memory James 1:1-11. And we memorized James 1:12-14 We continued to sing "The Lord's My Shepherd". History  We learnt about the Dutch in the new world, tobacco (Triangular Trade) and Queen Nzinga Angola. It is interesting because we live in NY. We borrowed an interesting book from the library about Manhattan. (Picture book) And I love it that we read about New Amsterdam in the 2nd Grade supplement (American Pioneers and Patriots) too. We looked up where Angola is. We started reading Amos Fortune. I really like it. The kids were not as crazy about it, but at least the readings are short. Language We continued with Spelling. Lil Sis is really getting a hang of Spelling. It was cool to see. We continued with Mandarin Chinese. Science We continued to document our seeds.
