10th Grade 2020-2021 Week 12

 This week Big Bro finished his Beowulf argumentative essay and he had to do an editorial. There are a lot of small writing assignments this year and I think it's a good training for him. He also did a chromatography experiment for Chemistry. This year what I like about Masterbooks Chemistry is that he gets to do 1 lab, 1 worksheet, and 1 quiz every week. It's consistent.

2020-2021 Rome to Reformation Week 13

  Last Saturday we celebrated Baby Sis' 8th birthday. I cannot believe she is already eight. Bible/History We continued the journey of Luke this week and we memorized 1 Cor 12:2 For History, we are learning the origins of Islam. We also used this site to listen to some testimonies and prayed for them. We made a notebook page and a lapbook component   Science We learnt about the digestive system this week. It was really fun to put more things on our model! Just the digestive system (without the liver and pancreases) Large intestines behind the small intestines stomach wall and vili Adding onto the model! We added the pancreas And the liver The girls did a review We did a peristalsis experiment.  And some worksheets regarding nutrition We also talked about the teeth and dental health. 2020-2021 Rome to Reformation Week 12

 We had a good break in the countryside last week! This week we moved on to the Middle Ages. Bible We are starting to memorize 1 Cor 13. I also started to do my devotions on the same book. I have learnt a lot. We also are reading through Luke and the life of Jesus. History For the Middle Ages, I will choose some projects from Project Passport: Middle Ages to do. However, mostly, we're following the schedule from MFW (mainly Story of the World vol. 2) This week we reviewed the fall of Rome and how the empire split into east and west. We learnt about Justinian. This is a page we did on the Code of Justinian. This is an example of the powerpoint slide I used to teach the girls (mostly using the materials from Streams of Civilization) We learnt about the Byzantine Culture, and Hagia Sofia.
