 Week 33???? Wow! For history, we are learning about the North American Indigenous people. We went by regions. and did this lapbook component. So sad my printing came out bad. We finished up out Astronomy Lapbook! So proud of their work! We are going on a vacation next week and we'll come back to finish up the last week of official school, then they will do more English and Math (and Biology for Big Sis) for two more weeks before summer! Woo-hoo!! On a side note. This is so important. Mom's time with God. To take in nourishment. To rest. To talk to God. To listen. I am thankful for times of communing with my Savior.

 Wow! We're on the homestretch! After this week we will take a week's vacation and then we will be left with one week of history, and two easy weeks. This week we focused on the artists of the Renaissance. Beginning with Shakespeare. I made this globe theatre using the materials here  and I would not have been able to do this model without the instructions here . I put a toothpick as reference. This is a minute model! =) The girls found information about Shakespeare from here , wrote 4-5 interesting/important facts about him, and formulated these paragraphs. Then I asked them to do dress-up/openers. This is an IEW way of teaching structure and style in writing. I really like it. Then we searched up on his plays. We then learnt about Leonardo Da Vinci (and Michelangelo) through some reading and videos. This is about Da Vinci. Lastly we did a lapbook on the different events of the Renaissance. We had a most delightful vacation last week and felt that we rested well. This week we continued to learn about the reformers The girls wrote keywords for 4-5 facts about Ann Askew, read their sentences to me (younger ones), then I asked them to do a dress-up. These were their final result I made these posters. We didn't write about John Calvin, but we taught about TULIP. This is for John Knox. The girls made notes for Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, getting their facts from this website . or here I ventured into asking them to do 1 sentence opener as well. I felt that using the IEW way of styling and structuring writing is really effective! This is one of the writings Baby Sis had to do for English.
