2022-2023 Week 1

We started our first day! K, 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th. Full year.
My oldest in his last year with us, and my youngest in K. My last K. Lots of feels today.

A little first day of school gift. =)

This is how we do scheduling this year. Google Sheets. So we can change things up concurrently.

This is for 10th grade. All the subjects in a sheet. Very helpful.

Really easy intro week for the two middle girls (5th and 8th). They did states pretest, and learnt the northern and southern states. Seterra is an AMAZING place to practice.

They also did Math (Singapore Math for Baby Sis and Algebra I for Lil Sis) and English (Rod and Staff)

10th Grade

Big Sis is just doing History (Whirlwind History) and English for the 1st week.
For the Gilgamesh, she used My Father's World 9th Grade Ancient Literature Supplement. We probably will use this just as a supplement.

She also is trying out digital timeline. We will see how it goes.

Kindergarten

Wee Bro started with the Creation Story for the first two weeks. It was really fun to do a Creation Book this year instead of the usual.

I added in the Chinese component which he likes.

We used this bible. I like it.

This is his daily skill book that I made.

Other things he does daily: Kumon

Counting to 100 beads

A dot to dot book

A fun math and logic book by Grandma

The 2nd day he painted this in free time and said it is "sky". Love it!

Some books we read for the Creation week

And we try to still go outside regularly.

I think we had a great week! Can't wait for the next.

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

Science 2015/2016: Human Body Recap

We really had fun learning about the Human Body this year. I thought it would be meaningful to consolidate our learning. We enjoyed the Body Book more than I thought we would. I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet. The five senses Tongue the Ear The Skin The Eye Skeleton Joints Long Bone Tooth Brains Spinal Cord Digestive System Stomach The Lungs The Heart The Urinary System The Muscle Look through all our experiments and videos here .
