BIBLE

We memorized Rom 12:3 and revised the verses before

Lil Sis memorized Proverbs 12:15
Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others.

We read on the missionary trips of Paul. The Victor's Journey to the Bible has very good maps for us to follow along. The children enjoyed the readings.

HISTORY

Together with Acts, we read about the development of Christianity.
We finished Bronze Bow this week. What a GREAT book!!

We continued reading Galen and the Gateway to Medicine

LANGUAGE
The older kids continued on Rod and Staff English.

Lil Sis worked on her phonics, bible books and bible notebook

The Sad Day

The older two did the test for Lesson 5 åº·è»’一下 for Mandarin Chinese and Lil Sis learnt more bopomofo.

We learnt two more Latin words "caput" and "dens, dentis" this week.

We did Spelling Power.

MATH
Lil Sis started to do worksheets on subtraction. She is getting independent on her Daily Calendar.

SCIENCE

We learnt about the long bone
We took the bone out of the vinegar solution and saw that after the minerals dissolved, the bone could bend!

We also learnt about the tooth

Big Sis drew this as we talked about cavities. =)

I love this activity by Penny, teaching on brushing and flossing.

The kids had so much fun "brushing" the teeth.

Then we talked about flossing.
We did a worksheet on the teeth

ART

We drew the skeletons this week

Online Resources: Sesame Street Games

I love the Sesame Street Games ...I think they are the best for preschoolers. They teach important concepts, at the same time, making computer skills real easy. For eg, there is no "click and drag"...that's hard for them...there's "click" "move" "click". There are some games Ian really likes...(click on photo for the games) That's the Wheels on the Bus song (you press the keys foe interactive movements) Patterns. Seasons. Fun for the kids. Walking the dogs...numbers. This is alltime favorite. First you make a pitcher of lemonade. Then depending on how many monsters come, you click however many cups. I love it!

I did do most of the cutting though. We also enjoyed the different videos we watched and the experiments. I think this is the most successful science year yet.
